It seems that I can’t discuss Lightroom much without its sister app, Photoshop. In fact, you could be forgiven for thinking that Lightroom is a mere beta software pack-in, with Photoshop being its main feature. Perhaps, in years to come, that will be the case. Then again, I would be totally content to just keep talking about Photoshop. It has always been a beautiful editor, one that I still use to this day and one that I have come to rely upon so much that it feels far too long since my last overhaul. While the ability to edit photos on the go has spurred the development of many mobile apps designed to let you do just that, the days of a single main photo software application with which you would edit or touch up all your photos is still very much a part of your life. Lightroom is now the only game in town, for my usage patterns anyway. Sadly, there is very little reason to switch.

I would just like to pause here in order to talk about another recent Hue acquisition: the Aperture app has, during the past two years, transformed itself into a killer photo collaboration tool.
