But as a one-product-fits-all solution, Lightroom 5 falls short of what competitors have to offer.
I think that Lightroom 5 still lacks a few features I’d find important. For example, Adobe has offered a non-destructive workflow for years, but it’s not quite there yet. If you shoot native Panorama or multiple exposures and need to combine them in post, you’d be better off using another solution.
Overall, however, Lightroom 5 is a sweet upgrade for photographers and video editors alike. The more user-friendly interface, a new collection system, and improved library viewer are just some of the reasons why this upgrade will benefit photographers and video editors.
Don’t be surprised that the interface has changed. Lightroom’s latest look is still bold and modern, but there are no more sliders in the toolbars. Users will need to dig into the menus to access obscure features if they want to adjust particular settings. It’s like having to play a video game and hoping for the best. The Eyedropper tool is gone too, replaced by something called Clarity.
