Photoshop Elements is a great program for digital photographers and casual enthusiasts, and the most recent version for Mac, named Photoshop Elements 2020, is a step-up from the previous version, named Photoshop Elements 19.
I think it’s safe to say that Adobe should have given this feature the name Notes. It’s certainly a confusing name and has been compared to the new version of Adobe’s (formerly) fine-grained Notebook that only allowed for notes of text and lists with some formatting, but instead of creating notes you’d just redact them or delete them, Blagley’s Notebook is for Notes. Think of it as a digital scrapbook.
What you can do is adjust the red, green, and blue levels in each color channel. There is a Checkerboard tool to show you what is going on in each channel. You can also apply one or more color levels to a layer and add black and white levels, like in the Levels dialog box, which makes for quick and easy color adjustments. The process is easy to follow, with a nice array of buttons and controls to help you create the best possible image. Adobe has also made it possible to adjust gradients in Photoshop, though these are fairly basic—you can only create classic linear gradients that have a defined (usually linear) color gradient from color to color.

Adobe has bundled the same level of tools used to create and edit video with the company’s flagship photo editing software. This new “Adobe Creative Cloud” environment allows you to tweak your images, even if you only have an ad-supported account. The Photoshop Elements app team features a full suite of photography tools, and includes basic editing functions like cropping, rotating, flipping, and red-eye removal.
