One major improvement to the Found Panel is the ability to add more than five tags to a single image. This makes it a whole lot easier to properly sort images. In my form here , I show you how I organize images based on a number of tags. The new version makes this number much larger. The tool also allows you to display all tags within the Found Panel, as well as all or part of the image in the Organizer tab. The new auto-save feature is great, as is the ability to remove individual tags. However, Lightroom still doesn’t have sync. Therefore, if you import images from the cloud, you must use an external app. As previously mentioned, I still prefer Dropbox or Google Drive. The company also needs to provide speed improvements, as adding multiple tags is a pain when you are on a roll. However, Lightroom 5 does provide you with a simple option to quickly rename all tags in an image (in addition to the option I showed you in a previous form ), which is something I’ve wanted for a while.
Adobe tells us they had 600 million Android users as of the time of writing. 600 million! In the same breath, they say that less than one-half of 1 percent of users have ever created or posted a review, while, according to Adobe, there are 1.4 million active users on all review sites.
They also note that Photoshop has had hundreds of millions of downloads on the Play Store. Many may feel like YouTube and Facebook, web 2.0, might be a safer choice for reaching users. In reality though, when it comes to collecting user reviews in the same way that Facebook and YouTube do, the numbers just don’t add up, yet.

As you’ll see below, Lightroom vs Photoshop is less a question of which is best but more a question of what you want to do. They have different purposes and for many photographers and editors it’s not a question fo either or – they use both but at different stages of their editing process.
What are the features of the photo editing software?
Photoshop has all the features any consumer would look for in a photo editing software. These features include the ability to remove and replace colors, replace the color of things, alter the brightness and contrast of an image, add text, add background effects and more.
What It Does: The Brush tool is a great way to paint on images in a way that allows you to make very precise adjustments. In fact, Photoshop’s Brush tool allows you to work on any layer, at any time. New features in Photoshop include a new cloud-enabled search tool for document and image libraries that makes it easier to find and access the originals. Adobe is also developing options for creating different layouts for digital portfolios. Adobe has also started to make free plug-ins available for Photoshop. It offers many artistic effects as well as color-correction and manga tools.
Adobe’s vector graphics editor, Adobe Illustrator, has also been updated with new features like a 2-click feature for grayscale and color adjustment, the ability to reposition vectors and modify properties of shapes, including making them into linked objects. The new InDesign plug-ins add functions for sequencing and inputting text, making it easier to create mail merge letters.
The InDesign plug-ins are available to the public for InDesign CC, InDesign CS6 and later versions and InDesign CC Starter and later editions of InDesign CS6. Shapers in all editions of InDesign now offer the ability to save signature presets, and to save as a template. This helps to speed up the regeneration of InDesign documents. There is also an option to import and set up color profiles, as well as an option to import color swatches. A new feature adds links to the links tool to the Clipboard Preferences page. In addition, features have been added to make it easier to use the clipboard, based on feedback about InDesign mobile apps.
The new features on the pipeline are a Bundles panel, a Smart Objects panel, Smart Merging, and in Photoshop CS6 and later editions, existing functionality from linked files that enables objects to be linked to any other file. The Tiled option enables repeat patterns to be applied automatically to edits, as well as new controls for tiling lines for curved edges, and more.

Photoshop is part of a trend in the graphics industry to move toward an integrated pipeline where the artist thinks of complete solutions, not just small parts of the process. This all-in-one approach, in the form of the combined Photoshop and Lightroom 4 products, has had great success for the industry, but it may have drawbacks.
When Adobe started to sell the standalone Lightroom Classic CC on its own in 2018, they didn’t really mean for the product to have any sort of community. Rather, they built in as many conveniences as they could to make Lightroom Classic easy to use as a standalone product.
We also plan to expand the ability for users to load RAW images directly in the browser for social media with an updated Lightroom/Photoshop/Lightroom combination on the web. We’re also excited about the new selection tools in Photoshop as well as the new perspective tools, which allow the artist to focus on the subject matter rather than be tied to traditional, orthographic view perspectives. All these exciting enhancements are helping lead the way to a more cohesive toolset across Adobe’s entire creative suite, which is coming to market in late 2025.
All told, this shake-up will keep the popular Photoshop and Lightroom products relevant for the next decade. At the same time, it’s good for the consumers and business market as they update their existing tools for the new Generation-AI, which will enable them to experience even better, more personalized, and more actionable insights into the content they create.
A new way to organize and view images is now available in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. In Photoshop/Photoshop Elements, you can find and view your entire photo library—including photos from Facebook or other social networking sites. By default, any photos and files you upload to your computer are automatically organized into folders in the library. You can also give your photos individual names. You can subscribe to folders and add, reorder, and remove folders from within Photoshop and elements. You can also use the Import and Print Or Paper documents feature to add or reorder your photo files from the new library.
Filters are available in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements filters. What’s a filter? It is a collection of settings, such as a color correction filter, which are made available to you to act on the image. Filters include things like a color correction filter, a lens blur filter, lens flare filter, or a lens diffraction filter. Using Photoshop Elements, you can make a variety of adjustments including changing a photo’s exposure, color, and brightness. You can also use your own graphics from the web. To create a graphic, start by opening an image, an existing graphic, or choose a new graphic. On the Composition tab, make adjustments to the photo’s color, brightness, and perspective. When it’s ready, choose File > Export > Save for Web > Presets > Gallery format, and choose an appropriate preset, such as Landscape or Waterfall, depending on which preset works best for your photo. Your new edit will be saved as a template.

Adobe Photoshop has a native support for sub-pixel rendering. It is generally slower than GPU based acceleration, but the results are smoother and ultimately, look better. While CPU based sub-pixel rendering is possible, it requires a lot of resources and its rendering speed is quite slow. The best method to improve the rendering is to get the GPU based special effects, such as screen space ambient occlusion, but only at the cost of performance. However, depending on the image editing, sub-pixel rendering can be faster. Think twice before you start rendering.

Elements’ single most important selling point, as a photo editor, is its control panel. Converting a photo into a grayscale image is a very simple task in Photoshop. This makes gradients, brightness, contrast and many other aspects. A great thing in Photoshop is that it can give a better contrast to an image with just a few clicks.
There are about 96 gradations in a photo and each one affects the tone of the image. We can use our mouse to slide over the image to choose which area of the photo is affected and move the slider. We can also use the keyboard Ctrl+L to move the slider.
Possibly one of the most mind-blowing new features from Photoshop for the year ahead is the introduction of Neural Filters. It’s actually a new workspace within Photoshop with filters powered by Adobe Sensei. Equipped with simple sliders, you can make magic happen such as changing your subject’s expression, age, gaze or pose in the time it takes you to say “AI technology”. To access Neural Filters head to Photoshop, and choose Filters > Neural Filters.
