To define which is much better you have to compare the functionality of the two applications. It’s quite simple if you know how to use them. Sure if you have only a very basic knowledge you will have problems to use Photoshop, but if you know how to use Lumiere you’ll find it 10 times better than Photoshop.
I disagree with this review, I tried Photoshop a few times and I found it really useful, the speed is of course poor, but it was just to see how it was and if it was what I needed. Even for very simple adjustments it’s still pretty useful — I may prefer it over Affinity, but I know that Photoshop is not going to be a replacement for Affinity yet. In the case of Lumiere, well, I downloaded the trial version and I found it useful for the basics of photos manipulation (cropping, effects, etc), but again, it’s more of a demo than a full blown replacement.
